The American Council of Teachers of Russian (ACTR), founded in 1974, is a professional membership association for teachers and others interested in Russian language, literature and culture. With more than 1,650 members, ACTR is dedicated to advancing the teaching and study of Russian through publications, programs, and conferences.

The American Council of Teachers of Russian invites you to join ACTR. Members have access to the sections of this website that are for members only (Member Directory, Member Resources), receive the ACTR Letter and a subscription to the Russian Language Journal as part of their membership, are eligible to sponsor their students for ACTR awards and to register their students for ACTR contests, and participate in other ACTR activities.

Our calendar year runs from 1/1/2014 to 12/31/2014.
